There is much to experience in the western half of the Evergreen State. West of the Cascade Mountains is where you’ll find the majority of the State’s largest cities – including Seattle, Tacoma and Olympia. There is Puget Sound with its abundance of islands and large ferry boat transportation, the Space Needle and Starbucks capital in Seattle, and the artsy and eclectic vibe of Tacoma. Washington prides itself on green, clean, energy-efficient living, and you’ll find an abundance of biking and walking trails, green transportation, clean air, green building initiatives, and goals to increase the greenspace in their large cities. If you don’t mind the higher than average rainfall per year western Washington receives, it is a wonderful place to call home.
