The Catskill and Adirondack Mountains are both main features of Upstate New York. A heavily mountained and forested area, Upstate could not be any more different than its large city counterpart in the south. Here, you fill cities like Buffalo, Syracuse, and Albany, and beautiful scenery like Niagara Falls, The Finger Lakes, beautiful wine country, and Adirondack Park – which is bigger than Yellowstone, Yosemite and The Grand Canyon combined. While it may be cold in the winter, the scenery, activities and sheer number of outdoor opportunities draw people in.
